Website Overaul Part II

OK, folks. It's pretty much done. I now have restructured the entire Blue Phantom project site, removing all frames and bringing the menu to a nicer, more graphical design. I also have tweaked the TBP-Page on the main site, removing that iframe as well. I hope you like what I did graphics-wise ;).

I also updated some of the TBP sections like the gallery. There will be more content updates, hopefull< over the winter break..

Speaking of which, as we're nearing christmas time, I've set up a nice eye candy for the TBP main page to have a more X-Mas feeling to it.

Early Christmas Present!

It's this time of the year again!

Well, it's not exactly christmas yet, but what's done is done. Just sue me! :P

The Dominance, like the Warhammer, is one of the oldest models I have made so far (although massively upgraded through the years), which makes me very pleased to have completed this one after all the time.

The huge Dominance-Class Battlecruiser, like the Warhammer, is the product of collaboration between the Corellian Empire and the ESS. Designed and constructed shortly after the foundation of the ESS it takes design elements of classical imperial ships like the old Vengeance- and Venator-class combined with high-end ESS weapons and shield technology. These elements make it the ultimate next generation warship combining the roles of command ship, carrier and destroyer.

New OPTs all over the place!

This is really great. New faces show up in the community and bring along some very nice OPTs. This whole thing is still alive! So what do we have...

First, there's Axingus, who brings us a very nice recreation of the original XWA Lancer Frigate. Next we have L.D. Khatgar, who has just released an upgraded version of XWA's Razor Fighter. So far it's got no cockpit and exterior yet, but still it is very well done. Keep it going guys!

Both OPTs are genuinely hosted by Jefe Picaro and can be found in the OPT database on his site. Go and get them. Now.

Website Overaul!

I'm right in the middle of revising the technical structure of the website, getting away from using frames, so this site hopefully gets more browser friendly. The main page is pretty much done. Now for the Blue Phantom project site.

New WIP!

I normally don't announce all my new WIPs here, but I thought this one might be of public interest: After a long while of hesitation, I've taken over the task to build the Super Star Destroyer for the XWA Upgrade Project. Originally Matt had made one really awesome model. Unfortunately since he disappeared, so did his model. :(.

New Release: Warhammer-Class Heavy Cruiser!

Finally done: A ship that is older than this site itself!

This is one of the very first original designs I ever made. Evolved from a rather simple comic sketch this coloss has finally turned into a fully fledged OPT - yay me! :D

The Warhammer-Class Heavy Cruiser introduces a new generation of heavy warships that make the link between normal and super-heavy battleships almost six kilometers in length the Warhammer is superior to any common destroyers and cruisers, while state-of-the-art propulsion systems enable it to easily outmaneuver super-class ships.

New Release: Dhilani Stingraay!

Well, this is sort of the last one....

As of now this is the last core model to be done for the Blue Phantom Project. There are some more models in consideration but they haven't reached a final approval stage yet. So for the moment, this is the last one, bringing the project range to a nice 49 OPTs.

The lightly armed Stingray is a small personnel transport that is mainly used by Dhilani high honorables and statesmen. Although it is capable of long-distance travel, it's yet mostly used for short-range journeys, as Dhilani officials prefer the safety of heavily armed battleships for longer journeys.

New XWAUP member!

It's not been officially announced yet but I just cannot keep my mouth shut. ;) DTMfrom MTD Industries has recently been working on a model to contribute to the XWA Upgrade Project. This model has now been accepted into the project, making DTM an official project member. Congratulations in advance, DTM! As for now, I'm not gonna say, what model it is, after all, I don't want to completely ruin the surprise :D.

New and improved!

Some internal news for a change. I've begun reworking some of the design elements on the VXHQ page. You can see the first results right now. So, what have I done so far?

• Reduced the height of the title bar: Since it had not much functin apart from the link to the Blue Phantom Project and a few affiliated links, it was rather space-consuming than useful. I've reduced it's height to somewhat half, increasing the space usable for the main body.
• Added ROTS shipset link to the title bar: While the title bar used to hold only the link to the blue Phantom project, along with reducing the height, I have now also added a link to the Battle over Coruscant Shipset. The Link will open the animated javascript window that was opened by the butten in the left navigation.
• Added a sub-menu to the Episode III nav button: As the link to the javascript window has been relocated into the title bar, I have linked a sub-menu to the Episode III menu button, similar to the sub-menu for the Blue Phantom Project, further down. Clocking the button will now open the shipset's home page in the central area and unfold the sub-menu on the left.

There'll probably be some more changes in the future. I'll keep you informed ;)

New Release: Inferno II!

Been long enough!!

While this ship is not (yet) official part of the Blue Phantom Project, but still it has become part of the TBPP universe through multiple battle threads over at the XWA Upgrade boards. An old sketch, which I had originally drawn for a Dhilani troop transport, would step up as the design for this heavy battle cruiser.

XWA Upgrade Downtime!

Most of you will have whitnessed the temporary downtime of the XWA Upgrade Site, caused by technical issues on the provider's side. Luckily Forceflow was able to 'remotely' solve the trouble and the site is back up.

New Releases by DTM!

What else would you expect from OPTing machine DTM? Just recently he has released his awesome looking Ecliptic-Class star Frigate. Next, which is even bigger, he has released another of his awesome campaign shipsets, the Rebellion Shipset featuring many new OPTs and for the first time making use of the new photorealistic atmospheric backdrops, created by dodonn. Renaissance of X-Wing Legacy

After a long time of idleness the recent XWAU downtime and prior to that a spam attack has forced the mods and admins of X-Wing Legacy to take actions get some order and life back into the old XWA community hub. In the process of this the Imperial Archive is being restored to host all the files that were lost due to old sites dying and the such. It's coming back, folks!

New Release: UPMF-style Hangar!

Alright, this one's for my granny who turned 74 today!!

One more OPT done for the Blue Phantom Project. The UPMF-style hangar will replace the default or upgrdaed Calamari Hangar and add a bit more of a TBPP feeling to the game. Enjoy!

BRX MANIA!

Well, I've been teasing you long enough!

This time I present you not one but FOUR OPTs at a time. OK, admittedly, they're rather similar, but it's the little differences that make life interesting, right? So...

Two revisions and two new releases is what I have here. By now most people know the BRX-700 Combat Yacht and the notorious Barracuda. After those two were released I had decided pretty soon that they needed to be redone, needed a cockpit and more detail. So I started reworking them.

In the process of reworking the ships - and in the course of several Battle Threads a new ship found my intenrest, the Black Scorpion. With some more head-twisting hours of conceptioning I finally had the perfect background. Like Vasudra and Otana in original XWA were the player's personal ships, the Black Scorpion is the property of official TBP player character Mryna Qhalic. To make things more interesting - and justify some rather exotic design ideas I whipped together the 'Scorpion' will go through different levels of 'upgrades'.

Starting as a stock Combat Yacht you will go through these levels as the ship becomes stronger through the game.

Long story short, here they are!

Upgraded YT-1300's!

How long have we been waiting for this! Finally Master Qui-Gon and Darksaber have released the long-awaited CORT Collection consisting of the stock Corellian YT-1300 and the legendary Millennium Falcon. The latter one is coming in two variations, one with Lando Calrissian and Nien Numb at the helm and one with Han Solo and Chewbacca. All of them can be found at Darksaber's X-Wing Station. Great job you two!

New Release: Dhilani Leviathan!

This day will be long remembered! Well .. at least I hope ;)

Finally, after months of waiting here's a new release for your Dhilani collection. Not only that, it is as well the last of the capital ships that needed to be completed. Only a handful other objects remain to be done to finish the modelling part for the Blue Phantom Project!.

The Dhilani Leviathan is the pride and the heart of the Dhilani space armada. 5.7 kilometers in length it is supreme to any other vessel of its time.

ARC-170 Starfighter released

Master Qui-Gon has finally released his awesome ARC-170 Starfighter from Revenge of the Sith, truly a community project with contributions from ATX, DTM, Darksaber and myself. Which reminds me I've still not uploaded it here .. damn. Anyway, until I get myself to do it, you can get the ARC from Darksaber's X-Wing Station!

Loads of new works from MTD Industries

This wouldn't be a newspost without our regular DTM ;) In recent weeks our popular OPTing machine has released a large number of OPTs, whch are as follows: First there be his amazing Naboo Environment pack, consisting of the planetary surface, Theed City and the royal palace. Next there's the shiny Naboo Royal Cruiser from SW: Episode II as and the awesome looking combat Cloud Car. In may those releases were joined by his amazing Coruscant Heavy Cruiser, also known as the Nebulon Ranger and finally a well done Geonosian Nantex Starfighter from EPII, made by L.D. Khatgar. New XWAUP Releases

This is what I get for not posting news in a while, sheesh.... Yes, there's news from the XWA Upgrade Project. First there's OPTmaster Marco Antonio who presents us his outstanding upgrade of the Suprosa, followed by the almost photorealistic rebuild of the Asteroid Base by Abolisher and Gringlas. The Dhilani Mammoth is now finished and available for download! This ship has been derived from teh Dhilani Warbird and acts as carrier and tactical communications platform for the Dhilani's dreadded fighter swarms.

No seriously, that was faster than I thought myself - I had planned at least one or two months for this one! :o!!

Finally, the first real Dhilani Capital ship is completed and ready for download!

The Dhilani Warbird is the primary killing machine within the Dhilani armada, a warship designed for a single purpose: destruction.

Finally, the first real Dhilani Capital ship is completed and ready for download!

The Dhilani Trident acts as both troop carrier and battleship and is one of the most common ships encountered in Dhilani Invasion fleets.

New Release: Recusant-Class Destroyer!

You have been waiting long enough!

Another one of these thins I had lying around almost-complete. The Commerce Guild Support Ship is the final Capship Relese for my upcoming ROTS - Battle over Coruscant-Shipset. This model has been kindly donated by EvilelJedi from the Warlords Mod for Homeworld 2 and was converted to XWA by Berruga. I've made some minor tweaks and added a few textures. Updated Actis Interceptor!
