Merry Christmas + New Release!

Aw man, it's been ages since my last news post, and even longer since my last release. All the more reason to give ya folks a little Christmas present!

Ok, this one first started off under the Name "Katana Frigate", however, I always was unhappy with that name. And with DTM eventually releaseing a (very awesomely designed) Katana-class Battleship (check it out HERE!) I finally decided to go for a different name. THus originated the Vanguard-class Frigate.

With all the stuff on my desk at the time I actually had this one lying around finished for half a year, only waiting to be released. D'uh! So, anyway here it is!

So, what else? Those of you who followed the WIP-Thread for the SSD over at XWA Upgrade know that Dragon and Myelf finally got our arses back up and got back to making some sweet progress. Even though we're somewhat on Christmas break right now I am confident that we'll finish this goddamn thing next year.

New Website Design!

You know me, I can't stay with the same website layout for longer than maybe 2 years. That said and done, This is now v.4 of the VXHQ page and I must say me like what came of it. I still have some ideas on how to beef things up a little, but this is the first stable version, ready for relaunch.

Structure-wise not much has changed, but I might make some updates here and there in the near future. So stay tuned!

New OPT: Normandy SR2 Released!

OMG, it's the first release for this year - and it took me two days!

OK, now I hadn't expected this to go that quickly. The model took me about a month of 'occassional working'. Textureing and OPTing took 2 days. I don't think I've ever had such a flow. Of course, having clear references to work with makes things much easier.

Anyway, here it is, the Normandy SR2 in all its glory.

With this bit done, I will try to get some of the other almost-finished WIPs done and somehow get the way clear for that damn Super Star Destroyer XD

New and revised planetary opts by DTM

DTM is back with a bang. This time he released a whole bunch of planetary surfaces of planets like Mustafar, Yavin IV or Bespin including a fully modeled Cloud City. Way to go mate, you're da bomb! Head right over to MTD Industries!

2009 News archived

Wow, it's been quiet around here, hasn't it? Had a tough time with lots of work, writing and concerts to prepare for. BUT I am also in a phase with quite a bunch of new models in the pipeline coming along nicely. After all there's still the SSD to be finished. And while this may seem to become some sort of running gag, I do really hope we get it done this year. Apart from that the Traquia, Mirage and other capital ships are coming along nicely and I will surely be able to release them sometime this summer.

For now, all I can offer you is some new artworks and WIP screens for the Traquia and Jango-class Dreadnought. Hopefully more updates will follow soon. So stay tuned - and frequently check my DeviantART profile for the latest HQ wip images.
